I am excited about a new school year, and I hope you are too!  This year, I will be teaching English and P.E. to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.  In English, I will continue using the Shurley Method of Teaching English to supplement and compliment our traditional text.  It is a strong addition to our Language Arts curriculum.  The students will learn grammar and writing techniques that will enable them to improve, expand, and edit their writing.  We wiill do many writing activities in all three grade levels to help prepare the students for the ISAT tests and to improve their writing and communication skills in all areas.  This year the 3rd and 5th graders will be taking the ISAT writing test.

     In P.E. I will be following the CATCH program.  This program promotes physical activitity for ALL students during MOST of the physical education class period.  We will be doing a set of exercises every day and will play many traditional activities and games.  Every Friday all physical education classes at Lake Crest and OHS will be walking during the class period.  It is important for all students to develop a physically active lifestyle.

      As usual, I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year.
