Thank you to all parents for bringing your child to the Christmas concert. It was a great success! They all seemed to really enjoy their performance. We are now beginning to make preparations for the Christmas party this year. As in the past, 2nd grade will be doing a gift exchange. Girls will bring a gift for a girl and boys will bring a gift for a boy. Please label boy or girl on the package as well as your child's name. We are asking for a $5.00 gift. In second grade we have been learning about writing friendly letters. Each student has written a letter to someone and those letters have been mailed. I appreciate your help in finding a person to whom your child could write. The students have really enjoyed writing their letters. They worked hard to create a nice letter with neat handwriting. We are looking forward to receiving letters soon! |

I am so excited to be starting the new school year! Throughout the year we will be learning many new and exciting things. As always, reading is an important part of any child's education and will be emphasized in 2nd grade. It will benefit all students to read at home as well as at school. The students are also excited about their science books. We will be making many new discoveries and experiments as the year goes along. I'm sure we will have a great year!
