It is with great pleasure and excitement to welcome you back to another year here at Oakland CUSD #5.  Every year we lose a group of wonderful students to graduation that we have watched grow from eager five year olds to productive young adults.  As students move from one class to the next, they are faced with new challenges and greater rewards.  The time required at home, preparing for the next day and trying to master new concepts becomes greater with every new grade. 

We have an experienced and talented staff at Oakland CUSD #5 that truly does care about the well-being and preparation of all students.  It is my belief that all students can learn, but it will take the combined effort of the teachers, parents, and community to ensure that we give each student the best chance to succeed.  I am excited about having the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people. 

This will be the first year that we will be using TeacherEase, our new student management system.  The program will allow parents/guardians access to their student’s information anytime of the day or night.  Parents/guardians will be allowed access to their student’s grades, lunch account, and attendance. 

I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with hard work and success.
